It was hilarious! Very strange, but I couldn't stop laughing. Men and women alike obsess about breasts, and yet the thought of being one makes you take another look, from the breast's perspective. Apparently, being a breast isn't all that! And where will he ever find a mate???

This book marks the first appearance of Professor David Kepesh, even though some of the stuff he talks about (his wife Helen and his upbringing in a hotel in the Catskills) fully appears in THE PROFESSOR OF DESIRE. Kepesh narrates the story of how he became a breast and his subsequent dealings with this transformation. Think of it as Roth's riff on Franz Kafka's "The Metamorphosis," but more hilarious and thought-provoking.
