A fascinating true story of a devious ex husband and the lengths he would go to be in control of those around him, especially his ex.
It is hard to believe that anyone can be as manipulative and get away with so much. This man was the devil in sheeps clothing.

Ann Rule is my favorite author of true crime stories. She has a passion for the victims and a desire to tell the stories correctly, calling in all the right sources at all the right times.
This book entails the story of the Blackthornes - sweet Sheila Blackthorne who fell in love with a man who was a handsome charmer - that didn't reveal the voilent, controlling sociopath he really was.
This book broke my heart and convinced me to volunteer time at the local center for prevention abuse.

Ann Rule's unique style allows readers to appreciate the book without being drowned in the legalities of non-fiction crime stories. "Every Breath You Take" is another testimony of Rule's meticulous investigative work and her true caring for the involved individuals, especially the victims. This book is definitely a worthwhile read.

I recommend ALL of Ann Rule's work to teens and adults alike.

This was my first true crime book I have read and I am just SHOCKED at how AWFUL people can be! Eye opening and intense. I am just disgusted by people. I DID order another Ann Rule book since reading this one! Recommend!

As with all Ann Rules books this one really help me spellbound. What some men won't do for control. Ms Rule has a way of putting you in the mind of her characters. And this book is no exception.

This is such a good book. This was the first Ann Rule book I have ever read and oddly enough I read it after I had exited an abusive relationship that made me realize that although I had it bad, it could have been worse. Ann Rule writes in a neutral manner but with great respect to the victim and the victims family. You will not want to put this book down and will want to finish reading it in one day.
