If you are a fan of the Beach Boys, this book is for you. It is written in a stream of consciousness, so it bounces around in time. It doesn't flow in any kind of linear pattern. And that is one of the things I loved about it. I feel as though Brian and I were sitting at my breakfast table having coffee while he told me about his life. That's how vulnerable he is and how brave he is for telling his story. I wanted to hug him.
Sometimes I wanted to cry, other times I wanted to laugh. I have been singing Beach Boys songs in my head ever since I started this book. And I was so sad to finish it, because I felt like my "friend" Brian Wilson just left and now I won't "see" him again. That sounds corny, but if that appeals to you then READ this book!
