Historical romance. Storyline is there but needed to be fleshed out a little more.

A decent historical romance, set in 1145 Devonshire, England. A woman wanting to gain her independence and protection for her family and a man wanting power and wealth, but both struggling with their desire for each other.
Alex De Monteneau has the authority to decide who will wed and bed the indomitable Lady Talia. But he's shocked to discover that there can be only one perfect hushband for the fiery maiden....himself
This was a quick read. A great book to take on vacation or to the beach.
