Tortured hero meets martyred heroine. And so it begins.
He decided to marry her for revenge on her dad. Her sister warns her but to no avail. He sister's husband ( a loser) is financial ruined by hero as part of his evil plot. In comes Mick a childhood friend from Scotland who has loved her forever.
The hero could be conked on the head twenty times but barely realizes he does love her at the end for a happily ever after.
The side story of Mick and Becky winds through as well.
It's okay, but not a story to drop everything to read.

A nice love story
First book I've read by this author. I liked it ok.
This is the story of characters previously introduced by Johnston, altho it is complete and absorbing on its own. If you have read "Captive", "After the Kiss",and "The Bodyguard" you will LOVE this story of Lady Regina Wharton and Clay Bannister, the Earl of Carlisle. Johnston does a wonderful job of weaving a gripping story that follows "The Bodyguard" beautifully.
I enjoyed Regina and Clay's story. She doesn't give up on him and he is able to overcome the fierce hatred he has for Regina's family. A good read.
Ths was an the 3rd book in a trilogy. #1-Captive, #2-After The Kiss. I felt all were good but this one was the best of the 3.
cute story. worth the read.
