I enjoyed this book very much! Heaven and Angel were two very lovable characters. I read the whole book on a lazy rainy Saturday. I look forward to reading more books by Ms. Brandmeyer.
Helpful Score: 1
Heaven Wharton, one of Brandmeyer's main characters, is headstrong and determined. She's also a bit overprotective of her younger sister, Angel, whom she loves more than life itself. Angel, a sweet 11-year-old struggles to deal with the hardships life has dealt her family. However, what is endearing about Angel is that she does so with a buoyancy and peace in her heart.
Travis Logan, the other main character is a handsome ex-doctor who just happens to be at the right place at the wrong time. Travis practiced medicine during the Civil War - but now that the war is over, he wants nothing more than to breed horses on his own little piece of "heaven." A man's dying requests gives him a chance at his dream.... Maybe.
Mix in some romance, a bit of suspense, a dabble of humor, a decision to make, and a faith that is strengthened, and you have the recipe for a great read.
