The Bridesmaid
The Bridesmaid
Author: Ruth Rendell
Senta Pelham is a mirror image of Flora, the lovely marble bust Philip fanaticized about for so long. But life, like art, is not always what its mere surface suggests. And Senta's strange world of make-believe, where truth and falsehood are eerily interchangeable, soon draws Philip into a shadowy cloister of vague and uncertain terror.

A good Ruth Rendell story, well plotted, weaving in and out of several lives and story lines, yet all joined together at last. NOT a Wexford novel

This book stayed with me for a while after I finished it. Ruth Rendell describes the characters personalities so vividly through details of their clothes and their disturbing thoughts that it is hard to get them out of my mind. This one and A Sight for Sore Eyes are my favorite Rendell books.
