In my humble opinion, this is by far the best book written on any subject regarding WWII. The sheer magnitude of this military operation was staggering for its time, and although it was a failure for the Allies, the stories of bravery and sacrifice by the men involved will be forever etched in history thanks to Ryan. From the generals in the war rooms to the individual troopers fighting on the ground, he covers every detail of the campaign in this classic. If I could only have one WWII book on my shelf, this would be it. 10 stars!
