Wedding Planner Avery Crosslin is surprised when a handsome man starts flirting with her while she is making sure everything is in its place for an upcoming wedding. When she finds out he is Joe Travis, a member of a very rich Houston family, she figures he is a player. Joe is fascinated by Avery and wants to get to know her better. He isn't the type to take no for an answer and decides to wear her down.
I've waited a long time for the last book in the Travis Family series. I loved both of the main characters. Avery hasn't got over her last relationship where she was left at the altar by her fiance. She doesn't want to put her heart on the line because she knows she'll end up hurt. Joe understands what makes her tick and is willing to go slow in the relationship for her sake.
This book is told from the first person point-of-view, just like the rest of the books in the series. That doesn't bother me, but I would have liked to get Joe's perspective in this story. Kleypas does a good job at showing us his feelings, but I just missed his inner-dialogue.
The secondary characters are well drawn, including Avery's toothless second-hand Chihuahua, Coco. There is also a secondary romance that was delightful. I also liked Joe's cousin, Ryan, and wish Kleypas would write a spin-off to this series with him in the lead. My rating: 4 Stars.
