A wonderful recollection of the first year of a young doctor in the mountain town of Bryson City, North Carolina. You will laugh and cry!

When I read this book, I felt a close kinship to Walt Larimore. I moved to Bryson City during the Spring of 2001. It was a joy to read this book, because it was like discovering Bryson City for the first time, all over again. The descriptions he gives of the area are spot on. There is nothing like the beauty of the mountains that surround Bryson City, especially during the fall.

This is a wonderful story and well written. I cried, I laughed! I couldn't put the book down. Written by a Christian doctor who learns many life lessons in his first year of practice in the Smoky Mountains.

I say; This is a large print book and that makes it nice for older readers or those with a seeing problem. Somewhat tame narration compared to the pioneer doctors' memoirs. Still, its fun to read with some good morals and enjoyable humor.
