I loved this book. If you like screwball mysteries, this is the one for you. Every Chapter had me either laughing, or on the edge of my seat. I could not put it down. The characters are really fun, including Bubbles' mother, who starts a food fight at the senior center then steals the shuttle bus and ends up arrested for fleeing a store wearing a $3000 Vera Wang Wedding dress. I dont want to delve too much into the plot, but I highly recommend this book for everyone from hairdressers, to single moms, to those with rebellious teenagers (did I forget to mention the teenager who dyes her hair a different color with Kool-Aid every other day?) Even if you are a total girlie-girl or ever been accused of being a life-sized walking dumb blonde joke. Everyone should experience Bubbles Yablonsky. If you are considering this book, ORDER IT you will be happy you did. I give it 5 really BIG flashing blinking neon stars!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I love Bubbles Yablonsky! Strohmeyer has created a character that's believable, without the pretentious attitude some of the cozy heroines have. Bubble's has wit, sex appeal, a sense of fun and more brains than she realizes. A great first in a series.

I really enjoyed this first Bubbles book. She's brash, funny, and -- when she can be bothered -- she's a lot smarter than she lets on.

Great Fun Read. If you are a fan of Stephanie Plum, you will love Bubbles!

I just loved this book! I so happen to live very close to where the author is writing about and it was fun reading about places that I knew. The story was a fun read also.
Meet Bubbles Yablonsky, Beautician/reporter/sleuth and blazing star of Strohmeyer's entertaining, establishment-basing debut.
It doesn't help that her name's Bubbles. Or that she's a gum-snapping hairdresser with Barbie-doll curves pinched into hot pants and a tube top. Or that she's saddled with a sleazy ex-hubby, a precocious daughter, and a shoplifting mother. What can a beautician do to add new highlights to her image? For starters, trip over a corpse and implicate a wealthy town socialite in the crime. Now, with a well-muscled photographer by her side, Bubbles is playing star sleuth. But as the investigation unravels, her shining moment grows as dark as a ship girl's roots. However dangerous her new career, at least the hottest graduate of the Two Guys community college is finally busting loose-and this time she's really giving Lehigh, Pennsylvania, something to talk about.

The perfect summer beach book! Bubbles may look the part of the stereotypical "dumb blonde", but with her (often well-hidden) wisdom and determination, you just know she'll wind up on top.

A great cast of characters, an interesting mystery and a little romance too. Very funny; reminded me of the Stephanie Plum series.

Bubbles is a fun light read. She won't ever compare to my fave stephanie plum, but her series is still okay.

Great read.. Funny! I'll be looking for more by this author.

Great read. Clever and funny yet heartbreaking in parts. Also the story was good flowing and the mystery itself had great twists and turns you really had no clue who was good or bad until the last 5 pages. I could not put this book down. Bubbles is the most unsual of crime solvers, but she also so very very human and I loved that about her. She is also surrounded by very human cast of freinds, family and foes. This is a very well blanced book and I can not wait to read the next installment.
Just started reading Bubbles books. Like some other series better but she is definitely a quick, funny read!

Cute and funny! Reminds me a lot of Janet Evanovich!
This was such a fun read!! And the "killer" of the first crime is totally unexpected! It's not often you find that in a book! I highly recommend it! Now I'm off to enjoy the next book in the series!!
1st book in series. Great read. The characters are all likeable and the plot was terrific.
Bubbles is really a fun new character. This is the first in the series.

In the two days I was reading this book, I got to page 50 or so. Couldn't hold my attention. This book has been reviewed as funny, humorous, all those good words. I've found that a majority of the time that humor doesn't work. Maybe as a screenplay? Had to give up. Humor isn't funny when the author has to try too hard to get to it.
a fun romp
i love this book cant wait to read the second one!!!!
This is the first Bubbles book I read. Loved it & went on to read the entire series. Now waiting for the next installment.
Hilarious!
I love this series. It's fun and many interesting characters

IF you like the Stephanie Plumm series then you will enjoy these books. Bubbles is a hair dresser who is trying to become a reporter. These books are very funny.

As a 52 year old guy I thought that a book about "another dumb blonde facinated with sex, soap operas and gossip" was probably not my style. But once I gave it a try it was great fun. I did find myself turning down the cover of the book on my desk at work! The story moved along, she was an entertaining and believable heroine, and I will definitely read another. Hey guys, just consider it a guilty pleasure.
Another fun light read. Bubbles gets herself into interesting situations. I will read other books in this series as well as by this author. If you want a book to read just for the fun of it, this is one of those books.
I can not say enough good about these books! I love them, love them, love them! A great read!!
I really enjoyed this book. It was a fun book with some kooky characters. I am hooked!!
This was great to read. Compared with Stephanie Plum books they are equal.

took me a bit to get into. I kept trying to compare her to Stephanie Plum. There are a lot of similarities between the two. Stephanie is better but Bubbles makes a nice "waiting for" the next one to come out book.
It doesn't help that her name's Bubbles. Or that she's a gum-snapping hairdresser with Barbie-doll curves pinched into hot pants and a tube tope. Or that she's saddled with a sleazy ex-hubby, a precocious daughter, and a shoplifting mother. What can a beautician do to add new highlights to her image? However dangerous her new career, at least the hottest graduate of the Two Guys community college is finally busting loose---and this time she really give Lehigh, Pennsylvania something to talk about.
Bubbles was either named for her first word, "Bubba" or for her father's favorite stripper. Either way, this Pennsylvania hair-dresser and journalist wannabe is terrific. If you like Stephanie Plum, you'll love Bubbles Yablonski.
This was a really cute mystery. Almost comparable to Janet Evanovich's Stephanie Plum series.

1st in a series. Funny mystery.
Bubbles Yablonsky knows there is more to life than doing hair in Lehigh, Pennsylvania. She goes back to school, enters journalism classes and gets a job at a local newspaper for on-the-job training. When Bubbles stumbles upon a crime scene on the way home from an assignment, she's suddenly up to her roots in a nasty murder investigation. This title is the debut novel in a new mystery series.

Breezy & funny mystery with a heroine who dresses like a Barbie doll and kicks (explative) like a Marine. Beautician/Reporter/Sleuth...
Great story! Fast-paced & a great summer read!

I tried reading this book 3xs and it just didn't hold my interest.
Maybe it was trying to hard to be Stephanie Plum or was the fact taht it took place to close to where I lived. Not sure just didn't work for me.

Very funny stories - if you like Janet Evanovich's Stephanie Plum series, then Bubbles should be right up your alley.
The first of the Bubbles series and a first for me too. I love the characters in this book! Occasionally Bubbles' Mama seems to blur with Stephanie Plum's Granny and Stiletto seems somewhat like Ranger but the characters seem to have more depth than Evanovitch's. Bubbles' daughter Jane is the most realistically drawn teen I have read recently, not too over-the-top. Can't wait to read more about Bubbles and company.
I loved this book!
