I find Wharton's works kind of heavy, but accurate depictions of her era.

This book was finished after Ms. Whartons death, but none the less a wondeful read of the time period. It is a large beautiful novel. The women are of wealth and try to use their money to attract husbands of desire. An unheard of thing to do in that era. Very interesting read as these women are a bit "randy" and i found quite delightful to follow. Women with a mind of their own and money to back them up, makes for great period read and will at times bring a smile to your face.

Interesting story of upper class society of the American and English early 20th century.
