This was pretty broad comedy with redneck good ole boys who aren't very bright (along the lines of "My Name Is Earl" on TV), but I liked it. A lot of similar stuff, like Hiassen, is just over the top for me, but this one wasn't. It's not Great Literature, but it's good for a chuckle.

omg, what a hoot! Can't wait for the rest in the series.
LOVED this book! It is a well written picture of the Texas hill country where the 21st and 20th century collides. Its colorful characters and obligatory names ("Bubba") are an accurate portrayal of the clash of generations and cultures. Texas is a HUGE melting pot of people and yet some things are always disctintly Texan.
