From back: Hello buffalo! That's what jack and Annie say when the Magic Tree House whisks them and Teddy, the enchanted dog, back almost 200 years kto the Great Plains. There they meet a Lakota boy who shows them how to hunt buffalo. But something goes wrong! Now they need to stop a thousand buffalo from stampeding.

This book follows the Magic Tree House Jack and Annie adventure formula and exposes to readers to buffalo hunting with a Lakota brave in the 1800s. The program we use at our school rates this as a third grade reading level, 3.3, for independent reading. Enjoyed by fourth graders, as well.
