I adored the first few books in this series. They were wonderful. Full of suspense, action, a bit of romance and the right amount of supernatural elements to make teens and adults happy. This is no longer the case.
I only liked one character in the book- Aphrodite. She was funny, sarcastic but still showed she cared when it counted (she is the reason for the two stars, and not one). The other characters, especially Dallas, seemed to have parts in this book just to develop situations for the sake of future books (this will make more sense when you read the book).
I personally will not be giving away my money to the authors. I might continue to read the series if the books end up in the used book store in the clearance section but other than that, I am finished.
I know many people will disagree with me. I know many faithful fans LOVE the series. You can love a series, and still hate the book!

This series has lost its zip. The first few books were very good. The last one was poor this one was awful. They are all over the place, rambling on and the plot has gotten boring. I know lots like this series but it is time for me to get off the bus on this series.

The last two books in this series have been bad. I could barely finish this one. It's not a fun series anymore.
was expecting more,was disappointed
Not my favorite in the series, but still very enjoyable. I'm glad that I stuck in there after the last book. The last book left me completely frustrated, and Burned offered resolution for that mistake. I am looking forward to the next book.
Love this series and look forward to each new book as it is released.
Certainly not the best read in the series. The bad language in this book was a little over the top for me. The "f" word appeared so many times I lost count. Not appropriate for a YA novel. This book kind of felt like a filler with not a whole lot of important-to-the-series content. This series is quickly loosing its appeal. The plot is just taking too long to get anywhere.
This book was so great! Best of the series. I couldn't put it down. It was exciting and gripping. I loved all the characters and Zoey & Stark + Steavie Rae & Raphaim relationships. It had lots of twists and turns and kept me hooked all the way through. I wasn't sad to see Heath leave and I was glad there wasn't much erik in this book.
a little slower than the previous books but a good read overall
This book was really good. I think each one gets better, it just draws you into there world. I cann't wait until the next one comes out. Anyone who likes vampire books this is a must read.

"Kalona lifted his hands. He didn't hesitate. There was no doubt whatsoever in his mind about what he had to do."
Zoey Redbird's soul has shattered. The fledgling High Priestess is trapped in the Otherworld and is slowly losing herself, piece by piece. Zoey's broken heart is making it difficult for her to return to her friends, and they are in desperate need of her help.
Neferet is worming her way into the Vampyre High Council, and there is little to be done about it. The remaining teachers at the House of Night are loyal to Zoey and know that Neferet is attempting to become the Tsi Sgili, allowing evil to follow in her wake. Zoey's friends are also trying to help; Stark, Aphrodite, Stevie Rae, and all the rest, but they, too, are dealing with problems of their own.
Stevie Rae, who was almost murdered by a rogue group of red fledglings, has imprinted with a raven-mocker; Aphrodite is still trying to make sense of how/why Nyx has gifted her with Sight, but taken away her vampyre abilities; and now Stark, Zoey's Warrior, must kill part of himself to save the only thing he will ever love.
The Cast duo has once again created an excellent addition to the HOUSE OF NIGHT series. This novel is especially telling, because the chapters are told from each character's perspective. It's nice to see the story develop from many points of view, rather than having a single narrator. Each character's voice is distinct, unique, and that's what makes these novels special.
Just as with the last six novels, this one will leave you wanting more. Fear not, dear reader! The eighth installment of the series, entitled AWAKENED, will be revealed soon enough!

This books keep gettin better n better. I cannot wait til the next book comes out.
I love this series!
I think this is the best book in the series so far! I couldn't put it down.
I picked up the first book "Marked" back in January. And i really like it so i started getting all the other books in the series. They sat quietly on my desk for several months until I sat down one Sunday and started the second book. I couldn't stop. I was very glad I had already gotten the rest of the series, because i was completely hooked! YES, it is the vampyre version of Harry Potter. YES, its full of teen angst. YES, the language is at times silly. YES, there is lots of teenage bickering and banter (which I find hilarious!) What I love about this series is that it never slows down. It's never boring to me. I love all the characters and find myself hoping for their happy ending. But nothing ever goes easily in Zoey's world and there is lots of pain and drama and even death. If you are looking for a series to read that will entertain your inner teenager for a while, give it a chance. I am glad I did! Now I'll be waiting for the post office to bring me the next book i have already placed on pre-order.
