This is one of the best books I have ever read in the historical fiction genre! Set in upper New York right after the Revolutionary War, a young woman who was abducted by Mohawk Indians as a child returns to her home and attempts to reintegrate into that society. The author has done extremely thorough research and weaves the clash of cultures and aftermath of the war into a suspenseful romance that kept me very involved throughout. I hope to see much more from this author.

What an amazing story, so powerfully told, weaving in the threads of history from the frontier of New York set in the aftermath of the Revolutionary War. The characters felt so real, drawing you into their struggles, joys and heartaches, and rejoicing in their triumphs. I didn't want it to end. This is one book not to be missed!
