Bury the Bishop 1995 - St. Bedes is a down and out parish full of idiosyncratic characters and Mother Grey, a newly ordained is there to bring it new life! The local bishop wanted to close down this church and when he gets murdered a the annual diocesan convention, she becomes a suspect. Because of this Mother Grey has to spend almost all her energy to track down the killer. Writer is excellent in describing the religious in-fighting in the Episcopal Church. Mother Grey, called by her congregation Mother Vinny is a busy lady, is 35 years old and has a good sense of humor.

This is the first of the series that is about Mother Lavinia, an Episcopal priest. She has a tiny congregation in an inner city church, but an awful lot happens!
