Excellent book! This book begins the Calder series; Stands a Calder Man is #2, This Calder Sky is #3. I have not read the 4th yet, but I loved these 3 and have them posted. The series follows the next Calder generation and their struggles and triumphs. These are not "happily ever after" romance books, the series does have some heartache.

Book 1 of the Calder Series - the entire series is very good.
I have been a fan of Janet Dailey since...a long time. I started reading the Calder saga because love series. But I continued to read volume after volume because tis is one of the best stories I have ever read. I laughed and cried and commented out loud because I felt like I was really apart of this well told story. I recommend this to any one who enjoys, romance, suspense, westerns, and a great read that draws you in.
