Katie Conner can do it all. She gives hope to us that aren't having deal with demons every day and just 10 year olds and toddlers. This is a fast paced read, not hard at all to sink your teeth into. There's enough hilarious situations and what I call mommy moments mixed into the demon hunting and saving of the world to keep you laughing.

The subtitle of this book is "The Secret Life of a Demon-Hunting Soccer Mom".
Okay, I don't think I've seen Kate yet go to a soccer game, but that's semantics. Whatever you envision from that subtitle is exactly what you get. It's funny. There are demons involved. It's chick-list paranormal humor infused fun. The author's style is very witty and I found myself several times chuckling out loud.
The best part is Kate. I absolutely adore this character and I loved getting to know her even more in this (which is the 2nd book in a series). She has been developed so well, I feel like I'm running errands with her one minute and the next stabbing some bad guy through the eye with an ice pick.
Oh, just read them. It's not high-brow literature, people. It's better. It's an escape. It's fun. Just do it :)

A fun read. What happens when you are a mother and the fate of the world is suddenly in your hands. Kate Conner is a retired demon hunter brought out of retirement when her family is threatened. Second in a series.

In this second outing, Kate follows one of her charges from Coastal Mists knowing that no one recovers that quickly from a coma and that this must be another demonic possession. She is lead to her daughters school where she finds a book that appears blank only to finds that it is a portal to tortured demonic souls. Just another day for Kate who has to fit this in-between getting her teen daughter to cheerleading practice, getting her 2 year old to daycare, and having dinner on the table by 6. But the twists to this book are what keep the story moving - the notes and quirks that bring back her memories of Eric, her first husband that was killed five years ago, her daughters teacher - who has a few secrets of his own, and Cool - the surfing phenom that has a sudden interest in San Diablo. Kenner is such a funny writer that you can't help but laugh out loud when a demon gets a ice pick through the eye.

Very good! Kate can do it all as a stay-at-home mom (except cook and keep a clean house!), plus kill demons and keep the world safe at the same time.....great read!
