I'm really enjoying this new series. Plenty of action and just a touch of romance. Of course, there is a pretty hefty cliffhanger at the end. Now I'm itching for the next installment!
In this one, everyone is still figuring out what their abilities are and what is happening in their world. Some progress is made, but other then that not much else happens (unless you count the multiple close calls they have with their pursuers). The 3rd book should resolve (I hope) everything (and should be awesome!)
I don't usually read YA, but Ms Armstrong has a way of pulling you in and not letting go. This is book 2 of her trilogy and book 3 is waiting in the wings. If you like YA Paranormal, you'll enjoy this series.
Maya Delaney has discovered the reason for the paw print birthmark, her ability to communicate with animals and heightened senses. She is a skin-walker. She is looking into the abilities of other classmates. But before she gets to unite the group a forest fire has been set and they are rescued. Except they kill the mayor and the kids realize they are headed in the wrong direction. There is a helicopter crash and all they have against the Vancouver Island wilderness and home is their abilities. They have been trained to be wary of strangers from their island living, and so they discover there are two factions hunting them, but which one do you trust?
