I read a few chapters of this book, which I felt pertained to me, and really enjoyed those parts I read. Parts of it are written in a first-hand, story-telling style which is "comfortable." It can be read cover-2-cover or used as a 12-week Bible Study.

I read this book once and it's so good i'm going through it agian! A keeper! I listed my first copy and then requested it agian.
Lovely gift copy! This is good got group or individual Bible Study! I've been through this book twice, both on my own and then as part of a small group. It is excellent, what I liked it how it addresses core issues that affect people every day. These are issues that women tend to particularly struggle with (though I'm sure many men do as well)--issues such as body image, dwelling on the "if onlys" and "what ifs" and other thoughts that make us anxious. I liked the way she wove scripture and personal stories throughout the book, and how scripture memory, prayer, and meditation or journaling were emphasized in the accompanying study guide. It's well worth reading--and reading again

I was looking for something to help with anxiety, maybe some daily positive affirmations, reassurance, etc. Instead, this CD focused primarily on being contented with what you have, gratitude, etc. And, at least as I experienced it, the tone was not comforting, but instead guilt-producing. After a couple of chapters what I was hearing was that if I was anxious or discontent in any way I was probably a bad Christian and should stop that immediately. NOT good for the ol' anxiety, so I quit listening.
So, overall, this CD probably serves its purpose, but for me, it was really not what I needed.
