This book was so engrossing, I read it in one day. Lily does out-raggeous things to forget the daughter stolen from her. She attempts to save her sister from marriage to someone she thinks is not suitable for her sister, only to become entangled with him herself. Great read.

I have never read a bad Lisa Kleypas book. They are all fantastic, if you like historical fiction I would highly recommend her. Lawless Lily, Derek Craven and Lord Alec Raiford are characters you won't soon forget, and the good news is you don't have to because Derek has his own story. So get them all and enjoy :)

Lily Lawson is known for her outrageous behavior, including gambling the night away at Derek Craven's establishment. When she learns that her younger sister, Penelope, is engaged to Alex Raiford, the Earl of Wolverton, she knows that her sister will never be happy. It's not a love match since Penelope is already in love with another man. So when Lily arrives at Alex's home to visit her sister and parents, she is determined to stop the wedding.
Alex knows Lily by reputation and is wary of her from the start. That doesn't stop him from being wildly attracted to her. When Lily pulls out all stops to break up his relationship with Penelope, Alex vows to get even.
This was the first book I'd read by Lisa Kleypas, but it definitely wasn't be my last. It's a wonderful story with great characters. Not only do we have an incredible heroine in Lily, and a sexy hero in Alex, but characters like Henry Raiford and Derek Craven just jump off the page. My rating: 5 Stars.

I have started reading her earlier novels as I really like this author. This was a good book but in my mind the story origins were a bit far fetched. But I still recommend this book for anyone who enjoys these types of tales.

Very exciting characters and situation, more on the periphery of "the ton" and a level of sensuality and wildness that you can always count on from Lisa Kleypas. We can't help but fall in love with feisty heroine and hero, but more importantly, we meet Derek Craven whom we will see in his own book. This is such a great series, I wish there were more. Kleypas is so detailed and her writing is so fluid and beautiful. She builds a convincing romance and establishes other interesting characters whom we look forward to reading about in future books.
Update: just re-read this book. Unlike most Kleypas books, it doesn't hold up as well on second reading. I thought the hero seemed a bully, and I wasn't enamored of Lilly's situation and secrets. Even Derek Craven came off as insensitive and boorish.

This is one of her better books. I'm not a huge fan of hers because she tends to recycle characters and plot lines. But this one was awesome.
Alex had just a bit of everything that made him extra sexy. He was brooding and serious to the world but playful with Lily. Lily was so much fun, especially when she was sparring with Alex.
There were a few tender moments that brought tears to my eyes. The scenes of Lily remembering her daughter were very sad.
Easy to read. Great book.

Another great one from Lisa Kleypas!
Oh my, I loved this book. I had picked up this book directly after reading a book that the main charecter was raped "5" times. I was disgusted by the womans complete inability to control her own fate. This story was the antithesis to the previous book. The heroine was strong, unique, and someone who one could look to for inspiration. The first time reading a historical romance I have found a heroine I could truelly respect.
very much enjoyed this book...
I couldn't get into it.
A great read!
From the back cover: Reckless and wild, beautiful Lily Lawson delights in shocking proper London society. She is determined to rescue her helpless sister from an upcoming undesired marriage to the arrogant Earl of Wolvrerton
