Wow. I read this book in one sitting. I love true crime and this is by far the most outrageous book I have ever read. I turned every page in disbelief. A must read for any true crime lover!!!

I gave it 5 stars not because I actually really liked it but because I think it was very well written. It is a very detailed, gruesome account about a real cannibal. NO details were left out. Graphic does not begin to describe it. It would have been easier to read if it had been fictional, but unfortunately it is not. If you wonder about the mind set of a cannibal, this book will definitely educate you.

I'd heard this book is disturbing. Parts of it are very disturbing, but I'm impressed with the detail and honesty of the account of what happened in this case. Also, the author gives very fair time for explaining how Meiwes came to do this act and his motivations behind it. A sad case of how some people are so horribly influenced as children.....

Extremely disturbing, graphic detail..not for the faint of heart

I got this book for my sister, who has a weird fascination with true crime, and serial killers, especially cannibals.
From the excerpts she read to me, this is a very graphic and sometimes disturbing book. But even more than that, it's the fact that the cannibal found numerous WILLING victims to the ad he placed for someone to murder and then eat.
If you've ever wondered if there really are such messed up people in the world, the answer is undoubtedly YES!

From a childhood perverted by unhealthy obsessions to his notorious trial that ended in a stunning verdict, Cannibal discloses for the first time the true story of a real-life Hannibal Lecter and his victim. And with details never before divulged to the public, it takes readers step-by-step through the unspeakable crime that fascinated and revolted the world.

Wow! I actually never knew there was a society of people out there who not only want to eat other people but be eaten themselves. I've heard of many different fetishes (and can we even call this a fetish?) seems to me it's a death wish. They both seemed like nice and normal, everyday men who were able to pass in society as such and they looked that way too. How shocking this was to all that knew them!
The author done a great job on her descriptions of what she believed occured between these two men and being this was her first book I was impressed. I was very shocked at the verdict handed down in this case but not surprised, the law seems to go with "what society feels is wrong, is right and vice-versa. Just MY opinion and that's what a review is about.

I have read hundreds of true crime books, this has got to be the sickest I have ever read. I almost didn't finish it, but I did.
