I kept figuring out who the murderer was and I kept being wrong. A good mystery, even if it was a trifle wordy. Unlike one of the reviewers here I didn't realize it was taking place before World War II.
I had trouble keeping all the characters straight, but once I got into the story, I really enjoyed it. It was written before WWII, so keep that in mind and the references to a life in pre-world war America will make sense. I never did guess the killer either.
A well thought out mystery. You might figure out who did it before the handyman and the woman but it is still fun to watch how they do it. An enjoyable experience.
