Back to the 'great' writing of Lindsey and the Mallory family! 1- Nighter! =)
Helpful Score: 1
Very easy to read. It is the latest in the Malory series and includes all the favorite charactors from previous books. Very good book!

GREAT book....made me go back and order the others in the series even though I am sure I have read them before. I just wasn't ready to let the characters and the Malory family go!
Love those Malorys! Gabby is beautiful & daring. No simpering miss. This is a fun read.
I like pretty much all of her books.

I absolutely love the Mallory series, but I have to say this is my least favorite out of all the books. I didn't like Drew's character in this book even though when he was in previous books I did like him. Gabrielle wasn't bad. I thought you learned more about Gabrielle in the book than Drew. I didn't feel like I got to know Drew at all. I also looked forward to reading about James as he is my favorite Mallory, but was a little dissapointed. I feel as if there is another writer writing some of Lindsey's newer books sometimes. James' character is sometimes recently been portrayed as scary which isn't the original gorgeous rake/pirate I originally fell in love with. All in all was my least favorite Lindsey book I've read. This was actually the second time I've read it. I read it years ago, but am rereading all the Mallory books in order. I had a hard time finishing it which rarely happens to me. I also found myself dazing out and not actually paying much attention to what I was reading. There is a fairly good part at the end when you get to see a pirate fight and the old James I remember which the book was worth reading for if nothing else.

Really a great read, starts off with excitement and keeps you wanting to turn the page! The characters are so interesting, the plot keeps you guessing and wanting more to see what happens. Johanna Lindsey never seems to disappoint in her books. A great read all around. You won't be disappointed.

His old friend James Malory will sponsor her in polite society. Gabrielle is escorted to balls and parties by Jame's wife, Georgina, and her brother, Drew Anderson, a dashing American sea captain and fun-loving rogue. I really enjoyed this book its was light and fun. And romantic, most of the time lol. I love the couple.
A Malory novel...this time featuring Gabrielle Brooks, the daughter of pirate being introduced to society by James Malory. She was searching for a proper husband...but got caught in a passionate game of captor and captive.
I was quite pleased with this novel. I usually am with most of Lindsey's novels.
This novel is filled with excitement and romance. I found the story to be very enticing and it is a plus that it is a story about pirates, since I am a fan of pirate romances. There is a twist in this story, because usually when you deal with romances novels that are based around the heat of captivity, it is usually the female who is held captive, but this story doesn't exactly go that way. I think this is definitely a novel worth reading

It was a good book. I felt it could have been more in depth about why they loved each other, but I loved it!

A book in the Mallory Family series. After her mother's death, to avoid becoming a ward of a lecherous man, Gabrielle sets off to find her estranged father, only to discover he is a pirate! Finding she loves living in the islands and sailing with her father, she is dismayed when Dad decides she must return to England to have a season and find a husband. He arranges for his old friend James Mallory to sponsor her. Gabrielle meets James's brother-in-law, Drew Anderson and after a rocky start decides he will be the man she marries...until he embroils her in a scandal. G takes revenge by commandeering his Drew's ship and taking him prisoner on her trip to rescue her father. But as passions run high, captive and captor are difficult to define.
So good Johanna Lindsey Fans will NOT be disapointed!!

A pirates daughter goes to london to find a suitable husband but everything goes wrong.
From Booklist
Gabrielle Brooks knows that finding the perfect husband isn't going to be easy. Despite the fact that her father had called in a favor from the influential James Malory, who, along with his wife, Georgina, is sponsoring Gabrielle's debut, it is already midway through the season, and most of the eligible men have been tagged by other marriage-minded misses. And if word got out that Gabrielle was the daughter of a pirate, she might as well pack her bags and return home a confirmed spinster. In spite of all these drawbacks, Gabrielle does find one man with potential: American sea captain Drew Anderson. But Drew is quite clear about his feelings about marriage and pirates. When Gabrielle unexpectedly needs to return to the Caribbean, she decides to prove exactly how much of a pirate she really is by stealing Drew's ship and taking him captive. Lindsey adds a generous soupcon of swashbuckling action and adventure to the latest captivating addition to her wickedly witty, lusciously sensual Malory series. John Charles
