This is a great book for kids which allows the reader to change the story while reading, by choosing the actions of the characters.
I am not Jewish so I was interested in this book mostly as a novelty; as a gamebook collector. The Cardinal's Snuffbox suprised me at how good it was. The paths were truly adventurous and varied greatly. The choices directly affected the storyline. The specific geography and distances travelled were exciting. The maps provided tying into the story provided additional satisfaction.
Not being Jewish, the glossary of Jewish terms was interesting as welll as insightful.
It was also suprising that this book was published early in the gamebook boom. Great job, Mr. Roseman.
All gamebooks should have included more of these aspects.
