It's a very amusing book with some crazy funny scenes. Loads of sarcastic dialogue that made it hard for me to put the book down.

This book is loosely connected to the Jane Jameson series (Iris is her friend). So there is some small scenes with the old gang.

Well worth the read for something fun and light.

This is the first book in the Half Moon Hallow series by Harper. Previous to this I had read the Jane Jameson series by Harper and enjoyed it. I also read Driving Mr. Dead which technically takes place after this book. This was a very typical Molly Harper book, a cute and humorous paranormal romance.

I listened to this on audiobook and the audiobook was well done. The narrator has a very snarky voice which fits the story well. Although its not the best narration Ive listened to, its decent.

Iris Scanlon runs Half Moon Hallows only daytime concierge service for vampires, while also supporting her younger sister Gigi. Things arent great but Iris is able to make ends meet. Everything changes when she literally stumbles on Cal, who is poisoned on his kitchen floor. Iris ends up agreeing to hide Cal and getting involved in solving the mystery of who poisoned Cals blood supply.

As mentioned above this book is very typical Molly Harper. The story is nothing special, but it is a fun little diversion. I don't read a lot of Molly Harper paranormal romance books because they are all very similar, but when I am in the mood for a fun little paranormal romance they definitely fit the bill.

Iris is a great lead. She is practical and hardworking and is doing her best to raise her younger sister after their parents died. She is very careful to never get involved, or even see, the vampires she does work for. Harboring Cal goes against everything Iris would normally do. However Iris happens to be a bit of a do-gooder and just cant turn away a sick vampire.

Cal has this whole I am a mysterious agent for the Council thing going on and is, of course, very handsome. He has a cutting sense of humor and really endears himself to Iris because of how caring he is about Gigis wellbeing.

There is a good mystery here and some sizzling chemistry between Cal and Iris. This book was exactly what I expected. If you read and enjoy Molly Harper books then you should enjoy this one as well.

Overall this was a fun little humorous paranormal romance. Theres not a lot special or outstanding here, but the book is a cute and funny read. If you are looking for a light-hearted paranormal romance this book will definitely fit the bill.

This has a tie in to the Jane Jameson books. Iris provides services for the undead that they are not able to perform during the day. Her newest client, Cal, presents a problem when she finds him poisoned on his kitchen floor. Disobeying all of her self imposed rules, Iris takes him home with her and helps him discover who is out to get him. Cute, quirky and fun 3 stars

This book focuses on Iris. She runs a vampire concierge service that happens to be the only one of it's kind in Half Moon Hollow. She does the things vampires don't want to (or can't) do. She was dropping off the contract for a new client when she found him on his kitchen floor. After offering her a nice sum of money, she took him home, putting him in the basement.
What follows is a dislike of each other that blossoms into more. I really liked Iris. She is sarcastic, fun, intelligent. She gave up a lot to be able to raise her younger sister when their parents were killed. I enjoyed the interactions between her and Gigi (17 years old). The interactions between Cal and Gigi was also hilarious. I liked how well he integrated into their family.
Cal was harder to like at first, but he got much better. Jane, Andrea, and Jolene also make appearances here. (Not necessary to read Jane's books first, but I think I enjoyed this more because I read them first). Liked the elements of botany in the mystery. The who-done-it was easily guessed, but I found I didn't care!
Looking forward at other books in the series, I see Gigi gets her own book! Unfortunately it doesn't look like she majored in nursing at the U of K like mentioned in this book. (Bummer, since I am one).
