3rd in the Promise, TX series. A great series.
A new visitor to Promise is raising eyebrows. Travis Grant, an "Easterner" with the audacity to write books about the West, is a guest at Nell Bishop's dude ranch. Nell's eyebrows, however, are being raised by Travis' sparkling personality and handsome face. Though she keeps telling herself that it's too soon to fall in love, Nell can't keep her heart quiet. It would seem that Travis can't keep quiet, either, as he seems intent on stirring up the town--and the msytery in its past.
good series. quick and clean read.
Third book in the series and well worth the wait! Delightlful read! Can't wait for the rest of this series to arrive on my door step!
Never met a Macomber I didn't love
Who's the father of Carolines's child? Everyone in Promise wants to know, but no one's ever asked or ever will. Maggies five now, and Caroline Daniels has kept her silence all these years. It doesn't change how the people in this community feel about Caroline. They're protective of her and Maggie, they care. Especially rancher Grandy Weston, who's beginning to realize he more than cares.
From back cover: Welcome to Promise, a ranching communtity deep in the Texas hill country. It's a good place to live, a good place to raise a family. True, there's a secret or two hidden beneath Promise's everyday exterior-but what town doesn't have its secrets? Hope you enjoy this visit.

Third in the "Heart of Texas" Series. From Amazon.com:
Caroline has an adorable daughter named Maggie, whose paternity has been a well-guarded secret over the 5 years since her birth. Instead of petty gossip or outcasting as one might expect, this warm-hearted community has embraced Caroline and Maggie, becoming quite protective of them. Grady, a rough around the edges rancher, realizes that his feelings for them has moved swiftly from platonic friendship to love. However, he must win the heart of the child, who prefers his fun-loving but highly irresponsible brother, in order for the relationship between him and Caroline to succeed.
Debbie Macomber is a master at making a community come alive. The reader is drawn directly into the town and becomes totally immersed in the setting, and personally involved with the characters as though these are old friends. I love the attention to detail, the characterizations, the interactions and friendships.
