A sweet little story, however unrealistic. A very quick read -- I read it in two hours.

Touching story well written
Yet another great, quick read by Rosamund Pilcher. The characters are not as detailed as her "bigger" books, but if you're looking for something light and quick, this fits the bill.
Good book - reads easy - story makes your heart lift
This is an unforgettable journey from the heart. It is the passage of a young woman from a relationship that has become too tame and predictable to the excitement of a new life brimming with possibilities and the thrilling promise of love. And along the way, all the hopes, secrets and desires that enrich us unite in a joyous carousel of life that only Rosamunde Pilcher can create.
Rosamunde Pilcher is a wonderful writer! Only reason I'm listing is I need room! I've collected all of her books and am keeping the majority of them as I read them over and over!
This book was short but sweet. I enjoyed it, as I do all of Rosamunde Pilcher's books. This one was especially good to read after reading a couple of "heavy" books, as it is light, easy reading.
I liked rhe story;is a sweet warming story for the heart like the others novels of Rosamunde Pilcher. If you want to put your mind at easy for a while with something tender and romantic, readt it.
Prue is intelligent, artistic, independent-and bored. Pressured by her mother to make a conventional and dull marriage, she is delighted to escape London and seek retreat with her eccentric and bohemian aunt in Cornwall.

Prue Shackleton is twenty-three, beautiful---and restless. Her job is challenging, her relationship with a successful young banker safe, secure...and boring. So when her s=wise, eccentric Aunt Phoebe invites her to Cornwall, Prue loses no time in setting out for its bright landscapes and salt air. When she meets Daniel Cassens, the artist she has long admired, her safe, predictable world is turned upside-down.
Rosamunde Pilcher is one of the most reliable authors that I read. She always delivers an entertaining story. THE CAROUSEL takes place in Cornwall, a spot that this author writes about with a great deal of enthusiasm and comfort.
Prue Shackleton at the age of twenty-three, is an attractive and responsible young woman. Her mother feels that its time for her to settle down. Prue isn't sure about that even though there is a kind and wholesome Scotsman who is hoping to marry her. In her heart she knows that he's not the man she wants to spend her life with. On the eve of a visit to meet his parents in Scotland, Pure hears that her favorite aunt has just broken her arm and she rushes to Cornwall to help her.
On the train to Cornwall, Prue becomes acquainted with a sad little girl who is going to visit her grandmother. In Cornwall, she also meets Daniel Cassens, a well-known artist who she finds quite attractive. What follows is a story that involves everyone that I've mentioned and it all takes place in beautiful Cornwall.
For complete enjoyment and relaxation all that's needed is a Pilcher book and a cup of Earl Grey. I believe that I've now read all of Pilcher's stories, hopefully she'll write a few more!

"delightful... it exudes comfort as it entrtains," says Publisher's Weekly. While Kirkus Reviews states," Enormous Charm and Warmth!" "A Romanctic tale imbued with comforting lessons on loving, friendship, and family ties, according to Booklist. " Chattannoga News-Free Press says, "Enjoyable & satisfying," while the Tulsa World calls it, "A romance with some mystery and considerable depth to commend it." "[An] agrreable compound of beautiful scenery and warm... loving realtionships" says the Library Journal.
This is not Rosamunde Pilcher's best novel (in my opinion), but it's a fun read. It's perfect for fans of Pilcher who have read (and perhaps re-read) all her better known works, like The Shell Seekers and want something new from her.
Another enjoyable Rosamunde Pilcher book!
