I've read all of Jack McDevitt's other books, which I've absolutely loved and encourage you to read those. This book I found lacking story development and flow that was present in the other books. Note that this book is not solely McDevitt's.
Really a decent read and variation on a general gee-whiz theme. Satisfying in the end.
