Of all the WWII books I have read, and that number is high, this one was the first I picked up from the German perspective. I then went on to Sven Hassel. Read his books too! The only thing I did not like about this book is the explicit detail Lucas went into about specific troop movements and the like, bogging an otherwise good read down with too much minutia. If your interests are in this genre, you owe it to yourself to read facts and prose from both sides of the conflict! Enjoy.
