This book was printed in England and has some of the weirdest ingredients I've heard of - some I've never heard of. You could try Marinated Pigeon in Red Wine which calls for 1 1/4 cup 'game stock' -try finding that at Wal-Mart. Better yet try "Octopus & Red Wine" (Lots of these recipes call for red wine - maybe to settle the stomach). Cooks Tip for this one is "Discard the head since it can be very tough". Who wants their dinner looking at them anyway? And for a crowd pleaser go for the "Poussins with herb Dumplings" Poussins????
The dumplings call for 1/2 c shredded suet - I know suet can be purchsed at Wal-Mart in the bird seed department - just pick out the sunflower seeds. Overall, unless you're a very adventurous cook you might want to pass on this book.
