Like all the Cat Who books, this one adds a little to the background of the characters. It wasn't my favorite of the storylines, but it's still a nice read.

Its another enjoyable cozy mystery ... perhaps not as good as some of the others ... but still good.

A Jim Qwilleram with his two Siamese cats mystery. Qwill needs time off to decide whether he wants to remain in Moose County and the Town of Pickaxe, so he takes a vacation to the Potato Mountains for the summer so he can be alone and decide what to do, istead of peace and quiet, he finds an area split between those favoring development of the area and those who oppose it,strained relationships between those who consider themselves the social betters of others in the area, and a man falsely imprisoned for murdering a prominent man of the community.

Ok, I read the reviews and people seemed to love these books. I have to say I was sadly disappointed. This is my first book by this author and will be my last. I foster & rescue cats so I thought I'd enjoy the series. ack. It was slow and ridiculous. I ended up skimming the last 2/3 of the book just to get to the end and see if the ending was as predictable as I thought...yep. Complete let down. I hope the next person enjoys it more than I.

Qwill's on top of the world when he rents a house on Big Potato Mountain. A young local man has been convicted of killing a land developer - wrongly says Koko & Qwill always follows Koko's instincts. rainstorms, mudslides, treachery & the kindness of mountain people. Qwill is in a race to the finish with those protecting the identity of the true killer & while shielding himself must also protect Koko & Yum-Yum. Another wonderful adventure w/Qwill & the cats.
it was good

Another great installment of the The Cat Who... series. I can't get enough!!
Engaging... A lively, witty tale.
Always a good read.
One of the better Qwilleran stories. Qwill's on top of the world when he rents a house on Big Potato Mountain. The owner, JJ Hawkinfield, brought real estate development to the once peaceful Potatoes. But Hawkinfield paid a steep price for his enterprise, he was pushed off a cliff by an angry mountain dweller. Qwilleran, however, suspects the man is innocent - and Koko's antics have him convinced something's wrong. He may be making a mountain out of a molehill, but he's determined to find the truth. Even if it means jumping out of the frying pan and into the fire!
loved it

These aren't complex mysteries. but they are enjoyable. I like to read one after I've read three or four serious books, as a sort of sorbet ice cream to cleanse my mental palate.
