I found it hard to stay focused on reading this book and struggled through the chapters. However, the beginning few chapters were alright.

While somewhat formulaic, this series is fun to read, and usually has interesting plot twists.

I read all the books in this light-hearted series one after another and really enjoyed them. The cat KoKo and his feline partner, Yum Yum, are endearing. Their owner is a former newspaper reporter, James Qwilleran. They live in a small town with lots of interesting residents. James can't seem to avoid murders though he sure would like to. The series ended abruptly with unresolved relationships due to the author's death at 97.

In this sixth book in the series, Qwill has quit his job at the Daily Fluxion and moved to Pickax (a requirement of his inheritance of millions from "Aunt Fanny"). As he is getting used to his new life and settling in the mansion, he starts investigating the mysterious disappearance of a girl named Daisy several years before. Then someone tries to kill him, putting him in the hospital with amnesia. I liked this book much better than the last one. The mystery held my interest throughout the book as each new clue revealed itself.
