I really loved the way Fern Michaels brings every day situations into an enjoyable read. The reader really can feel sorry for Kristine. I believe everyone knows someone that had their lives turned upside down because of a dead beat man. When a good man does come into her life, the relationship was on again off again. All the way though you wonder if the good guy ends up with the girl.

I found the main character, Kristine, to be the stupid totally blind in love girl. She didn't grow up until the end of the book. The book was good but she was tiresome.
One of Michael's best. from the back cover.
An only child who lost both parents during her first year at college, wealthy heiress Kristine Kelly had made her husband her whole world. But she didn't see what everyone else did: that handsome, charismatic Logan Kelly was a manipulator and a user. then one cold December, Kristine got a chilling wake-up call when Logan vanished, along with the eight-million-dollar trust fund whe had naively given him the power to control.
Just when Kristine's life was at its lowest point, banker Aaron Dunwoodie offered her passion, a strong shoulder to lean on, and a relationship to believe in.But a woman once fooled is twice wary, and very vulnerable. There were still too many questions Kristine needed to answer before she could commit her heart again: what really happened to Logan...what did she truly want for herself...and what would she do if Logan--a dangerous, seductive, and yet irrestible man--walked back into her life?

Found it very hard to put this book down!
I believe that this is her best book. I could not put it down.
Kristine Kelly married Logan who took her eight-million-dollars and vanished. A woman once fooled is twice wary, and very vulnerable. Her questions needed to be answered before she could commit her heart again.
Good story if you like romance. Dragged on a bit for my taste but it had a great ending.
Just finished 'Celebration' after reading 'Wish List'. (They were sold bundled together) They held my interest but I do agree with some of the reviews that Michaels needs to give her heroines some back bone.
I will order at least 2 more of her works to make sure before I give up on her. I am not a regular reader of fiction and am giving it a try. Maybe I should find another author?!

really liked the plot and structure of this book. kept my interest. wonderful to see that a scorned wife and rebuild and make a better life for herself!
I like to read the occasion family drama but this was just ridiculous! First of all, and most annoying for me, is how Michaels has these looooooong paragraphs of dialogue by one character, just rambling. Not only is it not realistic to how most humans interact, but it's annoying to read. This is the first book I've read by her, or the first one I remember, and based on this one I would never pick up another. IN FACT, I read the first half of the book painfully, then skipped to the last chapter or so just to get closure. Sure enough, it ended just as I expected. There were no redeeming qualities to reading this book. No humor, not even a great love story. Just a woman in denial about the jerk she stayed married to for 20 years, something everyone (even her kids) knew but she couldn't see. Until the last few chapters @@. UGH! I just wish I could get those couple of hours of my life back!
Wonderful, fascinating book that leaves you hanging until the very end. Revenge IS sweet!!
Kristine and her children leave Germany to get the home fires burning and wait for her husband to show up. He doesn't....

While I liked the idea that it could also be like a mystery, I have to agree with the one reviewer who noted about the main character. She seemed self-absprned amd it is no wonder why the kids were the way were. I wish I knew what happened to the infamous manuel they constantly mentioned. That should be in the toilet.
thoroughly enjoyed this book. I was so glad to see that even though Logan was a West Point graduate, and thought he was so smart, he was not smart enough to outwit 3 women who had caring, thoughtful, friends who happened to be brilliant computer techies. Good for these guys. Good for Kristine's children who hung with her and could see right through their dad. Aaron deserves a medal, too. I'll read Fern Michaels again.
Wow, what an excellent read. This was a great story that I never wanted to end. It's one of those books you just can't put down.
Book is in good condition
I read this book twice. It was really interesting. I love Fern Michaels books.

The story was a little slow at first, but since reading farther it became more interesting. Great story of how to carry on after being deceived by a loved one.

After decades as an army wife, Kristine Kelly isn't sure how to handle the transition back to civilian life after her husband Logan disappears with their savings. Unable to handle the finances and shocked by the anger her children have towards their absent father, Kristine turns to alcohol for comfort, an act that only pushes her children further away. But with the help of friend Aaron Dunwoodie, Kristine sobers up, reunites with her grown children, and enjoys a burgeoning romance with Aaron. Just as her life is back in order, Logan reappears, claiming that he is dying and desperate for attention. When Kristine delays her marriage to Aaron in order to play nursemaid to Logan, it looks as if she may once again submit herself to Logan's will. Celebration is a moving portrayal of a woman's struggle to find courage and independence after abandonment by her husband, and is a thoroughly engaging read.
Kristine had made her husband her whole life. Then one morning she woke up and her husband was gone along with her 8 million dollar trust fund. Could she love again after being hurt so bad?
Good read!
Rich girl Kristine has the proverbial rug pulled out from her and has to start all over again. But then the past comes back to haunt her...

Very good book. Fern Michaels has a neat way of writing.
I, too, found myself cheering for Kristine. Co-dependent relationships happen all the time and I'm glad the author addressed this issue. It was a great ending. I'm not sure she deserved Woody, but I'm glad they ended up together. Ms. Michaels referred to the tense relationship between parent and child at the beginning and then Kristine later refers to her parents as being, 'great' and 'there for her', etc. It was confusing, but maybe that mysterious money that popped up at the end changed her views on 'those rotten parents'....That along with that 'weird' slave trading story were misplaced in the story and I wanted it to end sooner, but I was glad to see that Kristine didn't cave in when Logan returned. Give it a chance.
Good book!
