In Australia, THE CELTIC DAGGER is a whodunnit with various characters. University professor Alex Wearing is found murdered in his office study. Detective Inspector Alistair Fitzjohn, instead of going on vacation, is sent to oversee the murder. Fitzjoyn is known to be "old school."
The author tells readers that Fitzjohn was not the main character in this book and that after ending the story, she decided to make Fitzjohn the center of her new detective series.
This book reminds me of Agatha Christie. Her stories were well done, but the characters were cardboard. This author has the same problem: the characters have no lifeâthey just do things.

Good solid first book in the series. When a professor is found murdered in his office. a soon-to-be retired dectective is given the case. With the death being a catalyst, several secrets/mysteries start to unravel.
