My copy is one of two volumes, but the part of it I have reads well, despite its lack of an accompanying book to help ease the reader into the subject matter. I think a person not familiar with or interested in Celtic history would still be able to read and enjoy it, though a pronunciation guide would be helpful for the uninitiated. For people with a real drive to get deeper into a fascination with the origins of faerie lore, I feel this book is an essential read to graduate past the typical, insubstantial writing which occupies most of the genre.
