This is the first book in this series that I've read and I really enjoyed it and look forward to reading the others. Victoria Trumbull is quite the character.

West Tisbury's police chief knew what she was doing when she officially made ninety-two-year-old Martha's Vineyard native Victoria Trumbull her deputy. Though Victoris is a little slow on her feet, her eyes-and mind-are still sharp, which is why she is the first to notice something amiss in the local cemetery. A request to disinter a coffin has led to an empty grave, the hearse driver's disappearance, and a string of suspicious deaths and obvious murders. When the missing coffin is finally located, dug up, and opened, it does not contain the expected body. The the casket itself disappears, and only the unflappable Victoria has the presence of mind to unearth clues mired in the past and present...
A competently written cozy mystery, featuring nonagenarian Victoria Trumbull.
In this case, Victoria assists the police chief in discovering who has buried a coffin that does not contain a body and how it was later allowed to be dug up. The cast of characters is large and the suspects many. In the end, Victoria outfoxes the clever criminal.
It is enjoyable to read of a detective who is advanced in years but not in mental deterioration, who admits to needing to sit down more often than she used to but is as sharp as ever.
