Great book about the weeks following the crucification and the Resurrection of Jesus. Most of the content of the book is historical with a light love story woven in. Loved the characters' journey to find answers. If you like historical fiction I highly recommend!

Just when you think you have heard every side of the story about the Resurrection of Christ, another perspective is written. This is one of those new perspectives, the story of a young servant woman who is sent to spy on the diciples by Pilate's wife. At the same time, her betrothed is given the assignment to solve the mystery of what has happened to the body of the dead prophet. Separately they investigate the rumors and come into conclusions of their own. An excellent book that relates frequently back to the Scriptures and fills in the blanks of what might have happened in the days immediately following the crucifixion. D.

Enjoyed every moment of this book and can't wait to get to the next in the series. I love the glimpses into what it must have been like in Jerusaleum then and how it must have been under Roman rule. The characters are very interesting.

An amazing book. A fiction recount of what it might have been like to live in the time just after Jesus' crucifixion. Brings smiles and tears to your eyes and paints a picture in your mind of what it might have been like for the people involved and surrounding crucifixion of Christ.

Wow! What an awesome read this book was! Set just after the crucifiction of Jesus Christ through the his ascension into Heaven. This book follows a young woman Leah, neice to Pontias Pilate. She is betrothed (against her will) to a Roman Centurion, Alban of Gaul.
Alban is commanded by Pilate and Herod to find out what has happened to the "prophet" Jesus' body. They believe that the disciples stole it and they want to know if there is any sort of revolt planned. These are the terms that they give to Alban before he can take Leah as wife.
Leah also is commanded by Pilate's wife, Procula, to find out more about the life and death of the Prophet Jesus.
What Leah and Alban find will change their lives forever.
A wonderful look at what could have happened back during the days of the early Christians. This book was a wonderfully edifying read. I would highly recommend it to anyone. It's an especially good read right now as we look forward to the Easter season.
Shalom.
