For the record, I fully blame Simone Elkeles for my obsession with the young adult genre. Before I got my hands on a copy of Perfect Chemistry, I thought YA novels were strictly PG rated and the most passionate displays of affection was a line saying, We made out last night. Nothing was ever discussed in detail, let alone the smoldering way Elkeles writes a love scene. As if that wasnt enough, she doesnt flinch when tackling tough subjects like gang violence and teen sexuality.
I fell in love with this series three years ago, and this final installment was just as hot and sultry as the previous two books. Luis, being the youngest, was so much fun. He didnt have the jaded cynicism his older brothers had going into this book. He was a reckless, fun guy who liked to make people laugh. This is what made the revelation about his past all the more saddening (sorry, thats all Ill say read the book to find out what happens).
I wasnt all that crazy about Nikki. I understood she got hurt in a major way by a major creep, but I felt some times she took her mistrust in Luis too far. Towards the end I warmed up to her, but for a little while I thought she needed a good slap. I did, however, adore her friends Derek and Kendall. For some reason I looked forward to any scene they were in.
I felt parts of this book, especially the end, moved too fast. I would have liked a little more filling in the Latino Blood storyline and Luiss reactions to what he discovered. I felt that came and went too fast. Then again, it might just be me with a serious case of the Oliver Twists, making grabby hands and begging for some more because I knew this series was coming to a close.
It could be argued that Elkeless books in this series are formulaic. After reading the first, the other two play out the same way, but I went in expecting that. There are no real surprised, but I recently saw on the news that people are almost 40% happier when they read a book or see a movie already knowing how it will end. This book is a classic example of that: I love knowing that in the Simone Elkeless world love truly can conquer all.

I just can't even described how much I LOVED this series from the first book with Alex, the second book with Carlos, and now the final book with Luis. I loved them all and am disappointed that the series is over and I will no longer be reading about the Hot Fuentes boys :-(
I can't even give a review because I don't want to ruin it for anyone. We have Luis the youngest Fuentes brother with the same Fuentes attitude and temper. He has a match in Nikki. A strong willed young lady that is willing to stand her ground against that temper/attitude that Luis has.
Througout we feel their tension and attraction grow. I loved every bit of it too. I loved how Simone brought in Carlos and Alex in this book as well. We get to see how their lives are going at this point in time as well. I loved the family feeling that the Fuentes' always provide.
I just loved this series from beginning to end and inbetween. If you you have not read this series go get it and read it. There was not one book in this trilogy that I did not like. I like how each book focused on one of the Fuentes brother's as the main character (along with their love interest. We get to see each Fuentes brother grow up. Never once was I disappointed in this series

This is the third and final book in the Perfect Chemistry series. There has been some buzz around a fourth book, but I was unable to find a solid release date for that. This was my least favorite book of the Perfect Chemistry series. I felt like Luis and Nikki didn't really have much in common and were a lot more insta-love than the other books in this series.
I also thought that for Luis being so smart he was making some really bad decisions. He didn't even really have the pressure on him to make those bad decisions that his brother Alex had. The whole story seemed a bit forced. Additionally, the whole 26 years later Epilogue was a bit hokey and unnecessary.
The above being said this was still a very good book; I just really loved the first two books and found this one to be somewhat disappointing. This book was an easy and engaging read and the story sucked me right in. I finished it in a couple hours.
Overall, while this was still a very engaging and easy to read YA contemporary romance, it was not nearly as good as previous books in this series. If a fourth book does finally come out, I probably won't read it. I don't read a lot of contemporary YA romance and I felt like the series has started slipping a bit.
