I LOVE all of Terry Goodkind Sword or Truth books, however, I had a tough time with this one. The story didn't really go anywhere and is was as though he ran out of stuff to write, because he kept repeating himself and it was basically an overview of his previous books.

I like all of this series, but, I'm a sap who likes a happy ending. So, when is the ending going to be happy?

I have thoroughly enjoyed the series and sadly know they are coming to an end. Chainfire stays in keeping with Goodkind's original vision of the series. The main characters are the focus and does not deviate the storyline like some of the others do. I like how a few characters have sides not explored before, which keeps the reader on their toes.

Basically, this book is about someone who doesn't exist... One person says yes, and every one else says no. And the person, who is the 'boss' says they have to keep searching. Yetch. I'm 175 pages in, and I'm bored to tears. I can count the fingers on one hand how many books I haven't 'stuck with', and put aside. Afraid this is going to be one of them.

I may have needed to read the first 9 Sword of Truth books to get anything out of this one. Perhaps, if I had, I would know who, and the importance of these characters.

This is my first Terry Goodkind book. I was looking forward to it. sorry.

Full of rape, torture, murder, blood and guts (literally). NOT good books, but very engaging. I was unable to put them down, and have lost a lot of sleep during the two months it took me to read the entire series. I cringed, I cried, I gasped, I had nightmares. I can't imagine what kind of twisted mind thinks up this kind of stuff.
In regards to the tv series based on these books DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME. THEY ARE FULL OF CRAP THAT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE BOOKS. I had to force myself to at least give them a chance, but was so pissed off within the first few minutes of the very first episode. I don't understand why the author had to butcher the story.
Anyway, read at your own discression. Not for kids or teenagers (or even a lot of adults :)
