Out of all of the books in this series... I think I liked this one the most. It's typical Dodd, a little corny in dialogue at some parts, but otherwise, I really liked the characters. They were more "real" than a lot of the other characters I've read about in other books. You can relate to them. 4.5 out of 5 stars.

I really liked parts of this book. I had been looking forward to the story between Isabelle and Samuel since the first book, I wanted to know the background behind all that tension. Now you get the story, Dodd drags it out a bit until I became a bit annoyed with it but, I enjoyed getting there. The passion between the two is hot and I really enjoyed their thoughts back to there preivous times together. I liked the angle that they had grown up together and had been each others first love. The section in Switzerland was all great. I do have serious issues with the ending. Seriously, the end makes Osgood seem like an unplesant buisnessman. He's the devil incarnate for crying out loud, and they just ride an elevator up to his office and say hey how about calling off the contract on Isabelle, it's against the rules. And he says oh, ok you got me, consider it done. Let me tempt you weakly with coming over to the Others, no you don't want to ok, and then let me walk you out and let you be on you merry way. Whatever. As far as I'm concerned the book could have been seriously edited. Mix the end into the body somehow make Osgood into the evil guy that he is...I don't know, I'm not an author or an editor. It is a good read overall typical Christina Dodd. Really like the romance between Samuel and Isabelle. Hated the ending. Read it anyway if you are into this series and Dodd, you'll still like it you'll just be annoyed with how she ends this book. It doesn't end the series so there will be time to make up for it in the next book which I think will end the series.

Out of the 4 books in this series, I like this one the best. The dynamic between Samuel and Isabelle is great. They don't always get along, they fight, but they love each other. Their character development was great. The series is moving along at a more understandable rate, and the pieces are falling into place. The side story involving Todd seemed out of place when you learn that he is just greedy and is not really an "other". And what is with Irving's nurse? Kind of makes you think she is an "Other". The ending seemed weak, confronting the devil should have had a bigger splash, but tempting man's free will is fairly simple right? I'm sure most people were expecting fire and brimstone, but the devil himself rarely gets his hands dirty. He has others to do his dirty work for him. And the last scene with Samuel and Isabelle was a little to sappy. But all in all, I like the book. Now we wait to find out what's happening with Alexansdr? Who is this girl he is marrying?
