I *really* want to like this series more than I do. The plots are interesting and well thought out, the cast of supporting characters is terrific and the tea shop is the perfect cozy setting - especially in Charleston. This book is similar to the earlier ones in the series - well written, well plotted and well...static. I just don't get a connected feeling to Theodosia or her suitors. Still, worth reading, especially if you enjoy tea lore and recipes.

This is another great book in the Tea Shop Mysteries. All the usual characters are there of course; Theo, Haley, Drayton, Delaine, Jory, Miss Dimple and of course Tidwell. This is again a very well plotted story with great characters. The death of a prominent Charleston Antique dealer during a Poetry reading which the Indigo Tea Shop is catering starts the story off. And all official eyes are on a new to the town young woman who is in the process of trying to open a new millinary shop just down the street from the Theos'. Theo and the gang cannot help themselves once again from "looking into things" including secrets about this and other suspects, much to the dismay of Detective Tidwell. This story has an ending you will not see coming, and some other changes that will take you by surprise as well. Another superb Laura Childs offering.

A fun read for anyone who enjoys tea, recipes and a who-dun-it. Likable characters and great story line.

Another delight book in the 'Tea Shop Mystery' series. Whilst one does not need to have read the previous books in the series to enjoy this one, there are some relationships which develop throughout the series and it would be beneficial to have read the earlier books.

Set in contemporary Charleston, tea shop owner Theodosia is present the night a well-known antiques dealer is murdered at a poetry reading. The dead man lands face down in her almond cake and soon Theo is sniffing around and out to prove that her small business colleague is innocent. Fun to read for the descriptions of Charleston, the wonderful teas served and the recipes in the back of the book make me want to start cooking and baking. A perfect light read for those days when you don't want to read something heavy.
