The fourth book in the Thunder Point series and as the previous book, this one as the others takes a look at different people in this small town in Oregon. In this one, a FBI agent moves to town after a very hard assignment that involves a previous character in the book and she is trying to decide what her next steps will be in her life both personally and professionally.

As always, Robyn Carr includes a little love, but what I like most about this series is that in each book different characters take center stage, but you still receive updates about the ones you have read in previous books. Eric and Laine were easy characters to get to know and it was interesting watching them learn about each other and see if their extremely different pasts would work well together.

The last time Laine was in Thunder Point she was rescuing a young child from a cult and she was shot in the process. After the rescue, she has had a difficult time recuperating with her father's negativity and constant disapproval; she longs to put space between the two of them. So she leaves Boston behind and heads back to Thunder Point. To the views that have been calling to her, to find some peace.

Eric is in Thunder Point trying to get to know his teenage daughter and nurturing his business, a service garage. He has had a shady past and the last thing he expects is to fall for an FBI agent, but their chemistry can't be denied. They are honest from the start and their friendship builds and grows.

There is something about a Robyn Carr that hyst soothes the soul. Her characters are real and honest. And this romance has the maturity and the believability that rings true from two people who have lived life, that are beyond the games young people play. It was romantic and fun and they had me in their corner from page one.

There is also some side stories that help the story along and a fast pace. The side story of Laine and her family, mainly her father. Long time Thunder Point resident and everyone's favorite realtor, Rae Ann is featured a little more intimately in this story. We also meet some new residents that will have a permanent place in your heart, Al and Justin.

Robyn Carr's books are formula enough to make you feel safe in purchasing one, but diverse enough to keep you entertained. I've already dug into the next installment, I love this series!

A good read with a nice plot and characters that you like and want to know as people. In fact this is a town that I wish I lived in with people that I would like to have as neighbors. I found that the story kept me wanting to keep reading until I got it finished.

Either Robyn Carr has written one too many books or she's lost her edge. I found this book so boring I almost didn't finish it and that's saying a lot since I rarely, if ever, not finish a book.

I think the problem was there was zero angst in this book. The hero and heroine in this book were really ill suited as lovers, but Carr just skipped right over that rather than giving their differences some depth and then resolution.

Anyway, I hope this is just a blip in her writing career because Carr has always been one of my favorite authors.
