I enjoyed this book, the author intregrates wine lore and history of lush Virginia country side, while the mystery is at the forefront. throughout the book there is the interesting relationship of Lucie the vineyard owner and her winemaker Quinn.
Lucie thinks she has trouble enough with the freak spring frost that is threatening to kill her tender young chardonnay grapes, but when the body of Georgia Greenwood is found in her vineyard, the situation becomes complex. A fun read.

Second book in Crosby's Wine Country mysteries. Lucie Montgomery is determined to make great wine at the winery she's inherited from her parents in the Virginia wine country. In this second story in the series, she's getting more comfortable with running the winery. After a big charity event held at the winery, Lucie finds the body of Georgia Greenwood, wife of her good friend and doctor, Ross Greenwood. When Dr. Greenwood becomes the prime suspect in the murder, Lucie and her reporter friend Kit try to solve the case themselves.

Really enjoyed how the author weaves in her information about winemaking along with the mystery. The plot of this one is a good one too. A great series, so far!

In my opinion, this second in the Wine Country Mystery series by Ellen Crosby is much better than the first. There doesn't seem to be as much of a rush to the end and the characters are better drawn with a more relaxed feel to the whole book.

Lucie Montgomery is the heiress of the Montgomery Estate Vineyard in Middleburg, Virginia, but being an heiress isn't all that it's cracked up to be, especially when she has to keep her family in order, that includes a younger sister who is battling he own demons, keeping a vineyard profitable, employees that seem to have their own agenda, and oh yeah, a dead body to deal with.

Virginia Greenwood, the wife of the local doctor, and quite a personality herself, is found murdered and though there arent many suspects the murder is too easily pinned on the one person who can't defend himself, the man that she has been having secret rendezvous with. When he disappears that only leaves one person; the one person that Lucie entrusted her life too.

Like a good vintage, this series gets better with age. Sorry, I couldnt avoid throwing in a cliché.

Just got started reading the series and have enjoyed each one. Not only are the stories and easy to follow but we, myself and my wife, are also learning more about wine and the process the Vinyards got through to make them.

A fun read for folks interested in wine country. Lucie tries to prevent the wine crop from freezing. Then, found dead in the vines, is Georgia Greenwood, political candidate. Georgia's husband is the prime suspect.
