This book was a good read. Any younger readers who like the Harry Potter series would probably love it since there are a lot of similarities, but if you read it long enough, Charlie Bone's world does become its own and you can enjoy it for what it is.

One thing I really do like about this author is she doesn't rehash what the character's know just to add pages to her story. If one character has to convey something we already know to another, she just pretty much just has them say they caught another character up to speed instead of retelling the story again. I drives me nuts when an author takes the long route just to fill space.

Overall, it's an enjoyable series where the books are quick to read and the characters are memorable.

The third book features more adventures and troubles for Charlie and his friends, though his great aunts and grandmother still rankle just about everyone. The mix of hostility, humor and danger remind me of Roald Dahl's boooks.

First of all towards the beginning of the book theres a family tree of the of the Yewbeams which is nice. And it describes each character and there talent! This book finds Charlie meeting another new friend Ollie, who is invisible. Charlie and his friends must work together against the 3 Aunt's, Grandma Bone, The Bloors and Asa to try to find out how to make poor Ollie visible again. Billy Raven is also back, but he will play a very imorptant role in this book and must decide whether he wants to be friend or foe with Charlie. Also theres a new student at Bloor's this semester named Belle who lives with Grandma Bone's 3 sisters. Belle won't tell her talent to anyone, and why are her eyes are constantly changing color. Is Belle a friend or foe? Find out all this and more in the thriling thrid book of the Children of the Red King Series!

Great book for boys and girls who enjoy Harry Potter. Very simple to read; font is large and text is double-spaced. Great bedtime reading for the family!

My 14 year old son loves this series. He loves when they make movies off stories like these and he'll compare the movie to the book.

This is the book I've posted. I honestly can't remember all the details of it lol. I read this before Twilight, before Harry Potter and loved it! I've only read up to the 3d one, but it's a 7 book series.

The story picks up and carries on right from where book two left off. Very entertaining and involving story that has kept my 11 year old glued to this series.
