I read the first book ("Baltimore Blues") in this series a while back and gave it three stars. I recently got "Charm City" through paperbackswap.com. In my review of "Baltimore Blues," I noted that Tess, the main character, was not particularly likeable or ambitious. Nothing has changed in that regard. "Charm City" is a quick, light read which fit the bill after I just finished a 400-page serious book. However, the stories and writing in the first two books aren't compelling enough for me to be real committed to read the entire series. I may try the third book in the series and decide after that if I want to invest any more time with this author.
