Very good book!! I thought it was better than the first one of the series. The romance between Duncan and Peg was very entertaining and her children added a lot to the story. Looking forward to the next book in the series!

Every book I pick up from Janet Chapman ends up my favorite... until the next one. Charmed By His Love will, I believe, remain in my top of the heap favorite stories.

After all the excitement I felt when I got a hold of my copy, I was so disappointed with this tale overall. I liked Duncan, hunky and strong, old-fashioned in a he-man sort of way; I liked Peg (although that whole family curse business was really lame), and I even liked her little heathens even though her four-year-old twins were too verbose to be real, but I went along with it; and I liked all the heart-throbbing, intense members of this magical clan. I even liked the dog! BUT the romance between Duncan and Peg took way too long to build and fell flat for me. And what's up with Duncan's magic? I finally got to see some of it, but for all his life he believed he'd been passed over in the magical abilities department, and then all of a sudden he can tap into it and then master it without any deep explanations? Even the plot ambled along at a snail's pace. There were a few romantic and exciting scene highlights toward the end (Peg's saboteurs) that spruced things up a bit, but they weren't enough for me to set this story even near the top of the bunch. Despite my disappointment, I'm eager to read the next in the series because I do like the family and the magic. In contrast to the other reviewers, I give this story only three stars. I just wasn't all that impressed.

These characters just bring a smile to my face! The 2nd in the Spellbound Falls spin-off, Peg and Duncan are 2 people determined not to find love again. Peg is the widowed mother of 4 who is down on her luck, struggling just to get by, and Duncan by his own definition is a cold bastard. With a little push from their friends and providence they find that with each other life is just magical.

Loving this new series.
I found this story to be very entertaining and that Peg was truly a woman torn between her belief that she was cursed and protecting her children from further heartbreak. It was a entertaining story - loved seeing her children's personalities develop within the story as well as her own story. Enjoyable all around.
This was a cute book.

Exactly what I'm looking for in a romance - physically tough hero with a tender heart, feisty but hesitant heroine, well written, believable children, celebration of community and family, and action and adventure where they each need to rescue the other. Scenes with Duncan interacting with Peg's children brought tears to my eyes.
