I was very disappointed with this book.

Kicking myself for spending $25.95 on this book.

I found this book to lack a plot. I did laugh in a few spots but they were far & few between.

The ending was boring and did not make sense it was like the author said "OK time to finish this book THE END"

With the title being "Chasing Harry Winston" I expected more from author Lauren Weisberger.

If you read the inside cover for this book it will be the interesting parts of the book and you will not need to read the rest of the 278 pages.

I am sure other readers will feel the same.

The third time, unfortunately, is not the charm for Lauren Weisberger. I had thoroughly enjoyed her first two books, 'The Devil Wears Prada' and 'Everyone Worth Knowing', but I was dissappointed in 'Chasing Harry Winston'.

The book is not a terrible read by any means.

I believe I, like most others that have read Weisberger's first two novels, most likely had higher expectations of this book.

If I hadn't read Weisberger's previous two, I would most likely not have felt dissappoointed and been completely delighted.

"Chasing Harry Winston" was a very enjoyable read. The characters were interesting and I liked seeing how they changed over the year in which the novel took place. "Chasing Harry Winston"is much better than her last book. I highly recommend it.

I was very disappointed with this book. My review will probably echo what a lot other reviewers have said, but here it is anyway -

I found this book to be incredibly shallow and severely lacking in plot. In fact, I just finished it last night and already I can barely remember the main plot points. I did laugh in a few spots and very occasionally found that I was able to identify with a particular character or situation.

One of my biggest peeves about this book was Emmy's resolution. I literally cringed every time I read the phrase "Tour de Whore" and references to Emmy wanting to "prostitute myself out." Am I the only one who was bothered by this? If you want to write a book about a women's journey to sexual freedom or whatever, then great, I'm all for it. But does she have to refer to herself as a prostitute and whore throughout it? Also, it was clear throughout her "affairs" that she was not comfortable with what she was doing. Apparently it's not okay for a woman to want to know someone on a deeper level before sleeping with them...

Another big problem that I had with this book was the fact that the characters were entirely unoriginal. Samantha, Miranda and Charlotte, anyone?

I also felt like there was a serious lack of organization and flow. There were also characters who appeared to be important and then pretty much disappeared (the hairdresser, Emmy's sister and her family,) situations that never got resolved or explained. The narrative was often confusing and jumped from present to flashback to internal monologue and back again with little to no transition.

The ending was ridiculous and boring at the same time. I also don't really understand the title, it really doesn't fit the story. As soon as I finished reading this book, I wondered, "WHAT was the point of that?" As I said earlier, I finished it less than 12 hours ago and I've already forgotten what it was supposed to be about.

I thought at first this would just be a fluffy nothing book that I could read as diversion, but it was even better than I thought! It is a great and funny story about three women in their thirties all going through different changes and learning more about themselves. There are lot of great descriptions of wonderful fantasy jobs and shoes so it is also a fun way to pass the time.

DO NOT WASTE YOUR CREDITS ON THIS NONSENSE! I'm a big fan of chick lit, so this isn't a bash against the genre. This book is ridiculous. I haven't read her others, and I won't bother, even if they are leaps better than this. I have a feeling her editor was thinking, "well, her other books were smash hits, so this one will sell, and by the time people realize it's complete crap, it will already have sold millions." If this had been her first effort, it would never have hit shelves.

Other reviewers have covered the annoyances of lack of plot, the whole Tour de Whore issue, and the constant point of view shifts. Besides these, my biggest problem was with the characters themselves. They are supposed to be a close-knit group of friends. I understand petty jealousies exist among women. It would be unrealistic (though this book hardly has a foothold in reality, not even a smidge) to pretend it wouldn't be a factor in the crowd in this book, but I found it hard to stomach the way these women were so jealous of each other. CONSTANTLY. I don't think there was ever any honest goodwill among them. I don't know about you, but I am genuinely happy when my friends succeed. I am also capable of sharing the spotlight with them instead of running an annoying inner dialogue as they speak.

I ended up skimming huge chunks of it, hoping it would get better. It doesn't, and the epilogue is a joke. Here's life, all wrapped up in a tidy bow just after they turned 30. Um...ok.

I was really disappointed with this book. The characters were extremely shallow and very hard to relate to. Adriana was too self-absorbed, Emmy too needy, and Leigh just not interesting. The strange bet they made wasn't even enough to keep me interested, a sex addict trying to get engaged, Emmy basically attempting to sleep her way around the world with strangers. Just ridiculous. The ending was strange as well, all of a sudden skipping ahead without really filling in the events leading up to it. I really loved The Devil Wears Prada, and this isn't even in the same league.

A delightful read! I'm not sure why this book garnered the negative reviews here. True, it was no "The Devil Wears Prada", but it wasn't supposed to be. That would be an apples to oranges comparison.

Weisberger's second book, "Everyone Worth Knowing", attempted to recreate the "Prada" magic and failed. "Chasing Harry Winston" is a fresh and fun new novel from this author. I found it to be enjoyable and well-written (as far as chick lit goes), and I'm looking forward to reading her next release.

My sister gave me this book to read, she normally doesn't read books like this but told me I would love it. I did! It was cute, light hearted, and a great book.

Story of 3 women who went to college together and how they find their right relationship. Of course it is set in New York etc. And everyone seems to have money or connections. I wanted to like the book more but I was having trouble liking these women. On to the next book.

Boring. Lacking plot. Characters were poorly written and did I mention boring? I didn't finish this book and I was very disappointed with Weisberger's writing because her first two were superbly written.

It might be your cup of tea, but I think it fell quite short of the mark.

As predictable as it gets. Disappointing doesn't really sum it up.
Methinks Ms. Weisberger was a one hit wonder.

This book is fun in the same way as the television series Sex and the City, without Carrie Bradshaw's first person narration and the emphasis on fashion. Three college best friends on the brink of turning thirty in Manhattan--Leigh, Emmy, and Adriana--try to change up their lives when Emmy is dumped by a long time boyfriend. It's a year-in-the-life of three best friends which alternates focus on all three, unless, of course they are catching up over a restaurant table. Some bits are funny, some utterly unrealistic, but the characters are developed and not too disgustingly perfect. Nothing profound or earth-shattering here, but an enjoyable easy read.

There are lots of great topics single girls face in real life throughout the book. I think it gave a pretty accurate portrayal of what single girls in their late twenties may think about or feel sometimes.

It's a great light read.

Good read for people who are fans of sex and the city, though not as good. It is kind of shallow at times and I thought one character(Leigh) was completely atrocious. Adriana was my fav. I think her character grew the most. Emmy would be next. At least she got her happy ending. I really found it hard to like Leigh I'm sure some people can relate but I thought she fell flat because she was so self involved.

I thought this book was ok, but if I read the word "querida" one more time I was going to be sick.

This book was ok, it was the first I've read by this author. The only character that I actually liked was Emmy. Although I would get bored at times and want to stop reading I kept on and glad I finished it. That being said the only I disliked about it was Adriana and her constant "Querida's".

I REALLY ENJOYED the book!!!!! I can't understand why most people thought so negative about it.
Thought it was entertaining and couldn't stop reading once I started.
Love Chick Lit, mostly a murder mystery girl though. BUT I have not 1 bad thing to say about this book.
Hopefully the author will continue the girls story in another book

** spoiler alert ** My advice is do not waste your time. This was nowhere near as good as "The Devil Wears Prada." The characters are one-dimensional. The writing is terrible; it feels very contrived. Weisberger tells you how the characters are feeling without description so it just lacks any depth. I really enjoy Lauren Weisberger. Everyone Worth Knowing is my favorite of her books thus far. This falls in line with her other titles and is a nice girlie book.

I found this book to be quite boring and had sad attempts at shocking the reader. I didn't like Emmy's resolution to be a slut and I thought all the other characters were just as shallow. The book didn't really have a point. I read it with some delight at first because it was light and airy but as I got further into it never really developed into any sort of plot.

Give it a go if you enjoy her other books but beware its not devil wears prada.

The story of three friends, who are hell bent on getting that guy, that ring, that next one night stand. Good for the beach, but not for those women who have yet to figure out the true meaning of Girl Power.

A light read, made me feel old- I could not relate to the characters or the superficiality of their life styles and choices.

I suppose I can understand the negative reviews here. It wasn't a terribly original book, and the plot was a bit lacking. That said, I LOVED the book and highly enjoyed reading it. I really identified with the characters and enjoyed getting to know them. I wish there was a sequel!
It's chick lit, for goodness sake. If you like the genre, you won't be disappointed!

Reading this book is like getting on a roller coaster and having the ride get stuck on the first hill. You get an experience but not what you expected. Not the best book Lauren Weisberger has written but a good chick lit book. It is overall a fairly decent book but it gets a little slow in spots and some of the writing seems a little choppy. A good beach read :)
