This book was just okay. While the ghost stories were contemporary enough, there were lots of Hawaiian words and phrases used that made it difficult for me to enjoy this book. Hawaii locals may enjoy this book more than I did, but I thought it was just okay.

Aloha! Mr. Grant has collected a series of stories from the original people and they are fun to read. This is a quick read and can fill up that time sitting in the doctor's office or at the car shop. The ghost stories envoke feelings of "chicken skin" a Hawaiian term that we here at the mainland call "goose pimples or goosebumps". It's one thing to read the story about the teenagers; it's yet another when it's a real family with a small child in distress. This book will make you want to seek out the Hawaiian kahunas (spiritual leaders) when you visit Hawaii just to ensure a safe experience. Mahola! Pau.
